Statement of Purpose
We encourage the submission of well-thought articles and essays and other creative efforts. We are also looking for other efforts other than writing, such as video clips, voice messages, photographs, and scanned art projects.
We are sole arbitrators for all online materials published at LDS Friends Worldwide. Contributions are subject to editing. Please submit articles and other work only after careful thought and revisions.
The expanse and depth of your creative works that we are anticipating may be summed up by the 13th Article of Faith. We remember also this passage in Doctrine and Covenants 124:99: "...and he shall mount up in the imagination of his thoughts as upon eagles' wings." We may also reflect on Joseph Smith's statement:
Thy mind, O man [or woman]! if thou wilt lead a soul unto salvation, must stretch as high as the utmost heavens, and search into and contemplate the darkest abyss, and the broad expanse of eternity--thou must commune with God" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith).
If you wrote or completed some project, ready to be emailed to us, and you think you're not as smart as others, or your words aren't as gifted, please still send it to us! We want to hear from everyone with a voice to share, from all age groups, and all places in the world! Make it your best, then share it. We can't always know what good it may do.
There are two ways that individuals may respond to magazine articles. One, they can respond directly to the author. Please include your email address in your submissions. This gives an opportunity for others to tell how your message helped them, or to give positive criticism. Second, responses can be given in the form of a responding message. This response would require the same effort and revisions as the first, and would be addressed to a general audience instead of only to the submitter.
NOTE!
We are looking for artists to decorate sections in our magazine for subjects such as Articles, Poetry, and Humor, and possibly others! Scan it, then send it to us.
