LDSFriends.com has always been a free website, privately funded over the years by one LDS brother -- the webmaster who is also the site's founder.  The cost has been slightly offset in past years with generous donations, including a successful grassroots fundraising campaign in 1997 that funded the site through 1999.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  The brother lost his job a year and a half ago.  And the lack of advertisers on the site has added to the need to have another fundraiser now. Since then he has been charging the monthly hosting fees for this web server to his credit card which is now maxed out.   
The year and a half of hosting at $50/month equals $900 which he's charged to his card.
Since we asked for help in July, we've received over $600 in donations. A big Thank You to those that helped!
Right now, we have a past due bill to pay our hosting provider of $230.90.
We have to pay this by September 26th or they'll shut this website down!
Anything that we receive above that will go to pay future hosting fees and to pay any programmers to update and maintain the site.

To cut back on future costs, we moved to a new server at the beginning of August which is half the price of our existing server.
