• I have found a lot of non valid e-mail addresses when I try to e-mail people.

The correctness of email addresses is the responsiblity of each user. We only verify each email address that is posted. Listings stay up as long as people want them to stay up. Each listing has a date by it for when it was posted. Some listings are over a year old but people still use them successfully. If an email address doesn't work, we have no way of finding the new one.

To search for it yourself, try a directory service like Yahoo Search or Switchboard.

To fix this in Netscape,

• Do this by clicking on Edit in the menu bar, then click Preferences.
• In the Preferences window that pops up, in the left column double click Mail & Newsgroups, underneath that click Messages. Now, in the right main column, the title says "Messages - Message Properties".
• Uncheck the box that says "By default, send rich text (HTML) messages". Then click OK to save these changes.

The line beginning with "<<<" describes the specific reason your e-mail could not be delivered. The next line contains a second error message which is a general translation for other e-mail servers.
