We ran out of server disk space on Thursday, Oct.23, and also previously on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Because of this many sister's from 12-19 years listings were lost.
Also, many of the discussion boards were lost when we ran out of space.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Part of the problem is caused by ldsfriends.com growing faster than we can afford to buy hard drive space for it.
We'll be optimizing the site this week to alleviate part of the space shortage problem. You haven't been able to JOIN since Oct. 18 and until further notice, the JOIN program will be turned off to conserve disk space. Thanks for your understanding.

One of ldsfriends.com's server programs crashed Sunday morning at 6:00 GMT.
Unfortunately, all of the single men's listings for ages 12-17, and 20-24 from April 15 through September 6 were destroyed. If you joined during these dates, you'll need to rejoin at http://ldsfriends.com/join.htm

We are two months behind on adding your photos that you have sent us and two months behind in removing your listings or updating the email addresses. We'll be caught up by the end of September. We can't wait until the database system is finished being installed because then you won't have to wait anymore and we won't have to spend so much time on this!

We send our greetings to all the members of LDS Friends Worldwide! We thank you for your support and enthusiasm. There are a few changes to the site which you will be interested to know.

LDS Friends Worldwide may now be accessed with this URL: http://ldsfriends.com
Shortly the site will be available in Spanish, so we will be accessible to more members. The site will be called Amigos Mundiales! Other languages will follow.
The two brothers, Roger and Christian, have almost exclusively funded the site out of their own pockets since December 1995. Due to the explosive growth of LDS Friends Worldwide, they will no longer be able to do this since the site will be costing approximately $75.00 per month. Please help us with a contribution so we won't have to shut down. The Chat Room is currently shut down until we get a sponsor. Even pennies will help out!

Hello everyone! I hope that you're having a good day.

I've received a lot of email over the last two days asking what happenned to hundreds of listings on the site. Where did they go?!

Monday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 am (6:30 GMT), LDS Friends Worldwide ran out of disk space. When new people came to the site and tried to add their listing, the program inadvertantly erased the page that they were trying to add to because there was no more disk space. That's how hundreds of your listings were lost. Today, I purchased 10 additional Megs of space and that gives us plenty of room to grow now. If you would like to help sponsor LDS Friends Worldwide to prevent this from happenning again, please read below.

As a result of this exhaustion of disk space, the following members will have to resubmit their listing from these dates:

Single Brothers 18-19 from August 20 to October 15, 1996.
Single Brothers 20-24 from August 15 to October 15, 1996.
Single Brothers 30-39 from August 22 to October 15, 1996.
Single Sisters 30-39 from October 10 to October 15, 1996.
Divorced Sisters 30-39 from April 1 to October 15, 1996.
Divorced Sisters 50-59 All dates.
Widowed Brothers 70+ All dates.
Widowed Sisters 70+ All dates.

All requests for listings to be removed or email addresses to be changed submitted between October 6 and October 13 will have to be resubmitted please.

Howdy everybody! So you say "What's up with the ads on the site?" Let me tell you. I was running out of money to keep this site going and so I sold ad space. The ad revenue will help keep this site going. So, it's just an inconvenience that we have to live with right now. My pocket of charity is not limitless.

What happenned to my listing that was over 6 months old?
In order to conserve space, all listings over 6 months old will be deleted now.

Please feel free to send your thanks and donations to keep this site running. We will send you back the address to send sponsorship to. Make checks payable to Downtown Web Productions. Even $1.00 helps to buy 1 MB of space a month.

Right now you can't edit your entry because I haven't written a script to do this. In the meantime, you can delete your old entry and submit a new one if you want to change something in your listing. If your email address has changed, send that info here.

By the end of the year, a database will be installed to the site to make it searchable by any keyword and also to add passwords so each user can change their listing anytime they like.

We should all remember that every listing on this site is not always accurate. Some people put up a listing as a joke or prank. There are a few crazy people that have visited this site also, so I would highly recommend not putting up your home address or telephone number. An email address is enough. Several anti-mormons visit this site also. They have spammed everybody on the site in the past.

Some have asked why there is not a children section on this site. Well, it's a liability issue that I don't want to deal with from sue-happy parents who don't use common sense. There's a lot of sick people out there.

The LDS Friends Magazine is still coming. Please send your Church or dating related stories to submissions@ldsfriends.com. We've received a few small entries from satisfied single members. We wish them the best.

Believe it or not, there are now four engaged couples as a result of this service and four already married. Some of their stories will be heard in the magazine. So stay tuned.
